The Rundown: In a universe devoid of stars, the crew of the Theseus finds something familiar.
Sisko and the crew of the Theseus find themselves in a universe devoid of stars after Lore destroyed all reality. Using their new drive, they are the only entities left in the galaxy and tensions are running high. When they discover that the wormhole still exists, the crew work to find a way to enter it, but it will take time.
As the ship travels to the wormhole, Sisko takes a moment to spend time with his crew and bring them together in the wake of everything they have lost. As some find comfort in each other, others look to what’s ahead as they prepare to enter the wormhole and hopefully find some answers.
The Story: Kelly and Lanzing continue to create an interesting story in this issue. The tone of the story is lighter than the overall arc and I like the character interactions a lot. Unfortunately, the story feels like the filler episode of a series that runs too long. If the story had been trimmed a little and gotten to the reveal faster, it would have had more tension. Overall, it felt like a tease of something more interesting that if I skipped it, I wouldn’t really change much.
The Art: Feehan and Fowler deliver great art in the issue. I continue to love the character designs a lot and I really loved the change in visual style between the regular story and what happens at the end.
